Talk Talk commercial…

The TalkTalk commercial I’ve been working on for the past while is now up online. As well as a bit of modelling and camera tracking I was mainly tasked with the particle simulations for the snow-globe shots, these were all completed using ICE and emFluid4 with Softimage.

2 years in as many minutes…

Lots of things have been changing round these parts recently: I have bidden farewell to Piranha Bar, to Dublin and, at least for a the next few months, to full-time employment. I’ve got a few new ventures brewing away which I’ll be posting about soon but in the meantime I thought this would be a suitable juncture to upload a reel of some of the projects I worked on over the last couple of years. The following is a breakdown of my role in each clip:

Tayto: The Man Behind the Jacket. Modelling and shading.
PTSB: Saving and Investing for Life. Modelling, rigging, shading and animation.
VHI: Margaret. Modelling, rigging, animation; vehicles, giraffe, birds.
Nestle Kids Cereal. Modelling, rigging, shading and animation.
Galaxy Bubbles. Modelling, shading, particles and animation.
RTE Idents: Bubbles. Modelling, shading, particles and animation.
RTE Idents: Movies. Modelling, shading, particles and animation.
RTE Idents: Washing Line. Modelling, shading, particles and animation.
Rice Krispie Squares: Western. Modelling and shading; buildings, vehicles, props and plants.

All these projects were worked on as part of the graphics team at PB and I’m very grateful to all of them for their help and support over the past couple of years, I learned a bucket load. Right, onwards and upwards as they say…

Piranha Bar reception desk…

The pixelly animation I’ve been working on recently is now done. Alongside Cormac Kelly’s Lights Out it loops away, stretched across three LCD screens embedded in the front desk here at Piranha Bar. Given a couple of weeks and a pretty open brief, it’s interesting to see how completely different our approaches were.

Due to the odd resolution this fellow really needs to be viewed fullscreen, I’d turn off the scaling too.

Few more bits and pieces for the Super Bagman animation. All the characters, elements and frames were created pixel by pixel in Photoshop, the broader animation and looping then done in After Effects.

Here’s a commercial I worked on a few months back, spotted it on TV here finally, so thought I’d fire it up. I modelled, textured and rigged everything, did a bunch of the animation too.
